Overview
Managing URL redirects is now faster and more intuitive with a redesigned redirect interface. This update improves the setup experience for 301 redirects and adds support for full domain redirects to external domains that aren’t connected to your account.
What’s New
The new redirect interface introduces guided setup, clearer options, and expanded redirect capabilities. URL redirects are easier to create, review, and manage, even for complex use cases like domain redirects.
How It Works
Users are guided through a refreshed setup flow designed to reduce errors and speed up configuration.
Refreshed UI
You can now select a source domain and choose whether to redirect a specific path or an entire domain using a clean, guided popup. This streamlined redirect interface makes URL redirects easier to understand at a glance.
Smart Target Options
For domain redirects, you can choose an existing connected domain or select a custom domain. Custom domains allow redirection to external destinations not connected to your account. When selected, a field appears to enter a valid domain or subdomain, ensuring clean domain redirects without unsupported paths.
Target Destination Options
URL redirects can point to a custom URL, a funnel step, or a website page, giving you flexibility when defining redirect behavior.
Live Previews
Dynamic previews show exactly how URL redirects and domain redirects will behave before they’re saved, reducing guesswork.
Edit Flow and Validation
After creation, only target values can be edited while the source configuration remains locked. Inline validation checks for invalid URLs, duplicate redirects, and unsupported formats in real time, keeping the redirect interface reliable and error-free.
Why It Matters
This update makes URL redirects more powerful and accessible. Teams can now create domain redirects to external destinations without extra setup or developer help. The improved redirect interface, live previews, and built-in validation reduce mistakes and save time.
Important Notes
All existing URL redirects will continue to work as they do today. The redesigned redirect interface is available to all accounts automatically, with no manual enablement required.
