What’s New?

Workflow Builder now includes four additional data points that can be used inside merge fields and If/Else conditions. These new workflow custom fields expand what you can reference when building automations.

The newly supported fields are:

  • Contact → Attribution Medium ID (from First or Latest Attribution)

  • Task ID

  • Note Created By (Name)

  • Contact Engagement Score

Each of these fields is available anywhere you normally select a custom value or define conditional logic within a workflow.

Why This Matters

Automation becomes significantly more powerful when it reflects detailed, real-time information. By adding these workflow custom fields, you gain better visibility into attribution, task tracking, note ownership, and engagement levels.

Instead of building broad logic, you can now create workflows that react to very specific data points — such as where a contact originated, which team member logged a note, or how engaged a lead currently is.

This makes automation more aligned with daily operations and campaign reporting.

Who Can Use It

These fields are available to anyone creating workflows, including Agency Admins and users within sub-accounts.

If Engagement Score is enabled in your account settings, that score will automatically appear as an available field inside your workflow builder.

How to Access the Fields

To use the new workflow custom fields, open the Workflow Builder and either insert a merge field or add an If/Else condition. The additional options will now appear alongside your existing selectable fields.

Engagement Score

The Engagement Score field becomes available in accounts that have scoring configured under Settings → Manage Scoring.

For example, you might route contacts with a score above a certain threshold into a high-priority follow-up sequence, while lower-scoring contacts remain in a standard nurture path.

This allows your workflows to adapt dynamically based on contact activity.

Attribution Medium ID

Attribution tracking details can be viewed within a contact record under Activity → First Attribution or Latest Attribution.

Within a workflow, the Attribution Medium ID can be used to segment leads based on traffic source. For instance, you could label or route leads differently depending on whether they originated from social, paid ads, or another channel.

Note Created By

When using triggers related to notes, the Note Created By field becomes available for use in conditions or notifications.

This allows you to build logic around internal ownership. For example, workflows can notify a specific department depending on which team member authored the note.

Task ID

Task ID is available in task-related workflows, including Task Added, Task Completed, Task Reminder, or immediately after creating a task within a workflow.

This makes it possible to pass the Task ID into external systems so that task updates remain synchronized across platforms.

Additional Notes

If a particular field does not contain a value for a given contact or event, it will simply remain blank. The workflow will continue running without interruption.
